Recent days have seen an upsurge in what passes for political violence in the United States. Led by Sandersnistas, they seem determined for the Bern – who is NOT a democrat – to take the Democrat Party in a direction it simply does not want to go.
Now you can say that what the Party is doing is “unfair,” but why do you get to say that? Are you a life-long, or even years long Democrat? Bernie Sanders isn’t. So why are his supporters hell bent on changing the Party in which they do not actually have any long term investment?
Wait, is Dave talking about the Democrats or the GOP?
The scariest part is how few people in the Sandernista camp are condemning the violence on behalf of a man who says, “I am not a pacifist,” every time he gets asked about why he skipped Vietnam. Is this the way the future of politics looks? I don’t get my way so I am going to throw a chair?
Dave and the family head out for the top of Tioga Pass in Yosemite, while the Duggar family heads out to an interview with Megyn Kelly on FOX news. One trip was a blast, the other promises to be an exercise in futility.
The State Senate President doesn’t want to talk about his hiring of two State Retirees to drive Drunk Senators home in the middle of the night. But he does want to get on his soapbox and whine about One Person One Vote, which is basically his own power structure.
The GOP has an opportunity here to really unite the base and show what they believe. Will they take it? Not a chance. But in the process, Dave discovers why he disagrees with Ron Paul (and by extension, Rand Paul).
Remember that movie where Chevy Chase is determined to “have a little family fun?” Eventually his trip for little fun becomes, the words of Clark Griswold, “a quest,” wherein the obstacles and problems must be overcome and defeated on the way to little fun. Read the rest of this entry
