The Killer Joke

Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen is apparently running for State Senate since she is termed out. Among her accomplishments in the past are the Modesto Shopping Cart Emergency Hotline, a bill that got Dave into a State Park for Free on Wednesday, and a joke so funny that if you were to read it, you just might die laughing.

A Listener wants to know if a Panhandler Pimp he observed this week is a normal thing? It’s not unheard of, but it’s not the norm. Most panhandlers today are free agents. But, with the workforce participation number falling, it could become more of a thing.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is buying land in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Why? They say it’s to “help restore” the Delta. You know, to do some good unlike the dirty Swiss who own the islands now. Other’s aren’t so sure. The islands just happen to be right where the Jerry Brown Memorial Straws are scheduled to be built. That’s got more than a few people harkening back to the days of Owens Valley…

The 9th Circuit Court actually agrees with Judge Carney that California’s Death Penalty is a ridiculous sham and that it probably violates the 8th Amendment, but… the Supreme Court apparently told everybody back in 1989, “Don’t change our ruling without checking with us first.” And so, even though they agree, the 9th Circuit shot down Judge Carney and overturned his ruling on the State Death Penalty. The end result is to maintain the status quo. We will go on pretending we have a death penalty, and convicted criminals will go on not being executed. And the truth is, Californian’s aren’t all that bothered by it…
