The Moral Equivalent of the Continental Army Soldier
Nepal has been devastated by the earthquake. Even as we speak the death toll is revised upwards, and it will not surprise Dave to see it top 10,000. If you are going to donate to help Nepal, be careful and choose a charity with a solid reputation and history of service in Nepal.
In Baltimore, the 1st amendment is used as an excuse to destroy private property and harass business patrons. The problem is, of course, that the Mayor who allowed this has no clue what the 1st Amendment means when it comes to protests against the Police in her city.
Congress Jeff Denham re-introduces (for the 3rd time) his failed idea known as the ENLIST Act. This time, the Modesto Bee goes along with him and argues that the ENLISTers, otherwise known as illegal immigrants, are the moral equivalent of the Soldiers of The Continental Army under General Washington. After all, goes the argument, those soldiers didn’t have American citizenship papers either, right?
